Cindy and Dennis join the family

I was just in the process of writing that TD Four looks like a TS now and expect an upgrade momentarily. Well, NHC beat me too it. Everyone welcome Tropical Storm Dennis. I fully expect Dennis to reach hurricane strength soon, as it looks as if he is already trying to form an eye. That is very impressive for a storm that was technically a depression a few minutes ago. We now have four named Atlantic storms, by the 5th of July! Below I posted the latest track map for Cindy from NHC. Also, I decided to post the latest computer model track map for Dennis. The models which were split on a Mexico or Florida track have now converged to bring Dennis towards the central Gulf Coast. Those of you in Louisiana may want to just leave the boards up. Dennis is rapidly intensifying and looks very impressive on the satellite. I think that the official intensity forecast is very conservative past a few days. However, we already know that we have almost no ability to forecast intensity this far out. My gut tell me people in Cuba, Jamaica, and maybe Haiti might want to start planning for a major hurricane. I am eagerly waiting for the next hurricane hunter report to see just how strong Dennis already is.
